Overview:
This month, at our SHRM meeting, we are privileged to hear from Brian Smith, a Partner in the firm of Heyl Royster, located in Champaign, Illinois.
Brian concentrates his practice in the areas of employment law and is Chair of the firm’s Employment & Labor Practice. He has extensive experience defending employers, in federal and state courts, as well as administrative proceedings before the EEOC and IDHR.
Brian received his law degree, graduating summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Brian is an active public speaker in areas currently of interest to us all in SHRM. A few of his most recent topics and presentations include:

- Retaliation in the Workplace: State and Federal Claims
- Compliance with Wage and Labor Laws for Vacation and Overtime Pay
