Meeting Topic: “What’s New at the EEOC. Putting Your Best Foot Forward”
Presenter: Scott James Preston, Partner at Ogletree Deakins
Overview:
This topic promises to be valuable information for all of us in the employment industry and provides a top expert perspective. The presentation will focus on the importance of recognizing the internal workings and messaging by the EEOC, preparing and responding to agency requests in an appropriate manner, and how to put your best foot forward when providing the company’s critical statement of position in response to allegations raised by a current or former employee.
Scott Preston is a partner with Ogletree Deakins, a global labor and employment boutique. He is in the Indianapolis office. Scott has a thriving national practice in over a dozen states, including Illinois. He is a subject matter expert on the EEOC and has appeared before at least 30 administrative agencies around the country.
Scott is active on the speaking circuit. He has been invited to speak before numerous business and employer associations including the Society of Human Resource Management, the American Staffing Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
When he is not busy practicing law, he oversees finance, travel, logistics, nutrition, and scheduling all for “Team Marco” – which is his 13-year-old son who is a defenseman for a travel hockey team based in Indianapolis.
